Snorkel with manta rays
May–October trips to the channel ten minutes away — planktivore giants on the wing.
Manta season typically runs May through October. Regular snorkel trips leave Paradise for the nearby channel, a feeding ground where giant mantas work zooplankton on powerful pectoral fins. Manta rays are fascinating and captivating creatures. Giants of their kind, they range throughout the tropical and sub-tropical oceans of the world. Born into a life of perpetual motion, they must keep swimming to survive. Driven forward by powerful beats of their wing-like pectoral fins they search the ocean currents for concentrated patches of the tiny planktonic food upon which they feed. Despite their status as an ocean giant, manta rays feed on some of the smallest organisms in the sea!

Caves at Sawa-i-Lau
Tuesday and Thursday cave trips, June–October. FJ$199 including boat and entrance.
A day trip to the limestone caves at Sawa-i-Lau and Blue Lagoon. Boats leave twice a week June through October (Tuesday and Thursday), departing 8:30 am and returning by 1 pm for lunch. The swim-through is the rare mix of adventure and just enough trepidation. Cost: FJ$199 per person, including cave entrance and the round-trip boat.

Village and cultural days
Waya and Naviti visits, rugby at Yalobi in winter, kava welcome, staff meke.
Day boats visit villages on Waya or Naviti, with a chance to swim with mantas in season. Winter rugby at Yalobi is a social occasion across the Yasawas. New guests are welcomed with kava seven nights a week. Friday meke is the team’s thank-you — song, dance, and celebration. Cooking lessons, craft demonstrations, and island hopping sit on the weekly board.

INFORMATION REGARDING GETTING MARRIED IN FIJI
The couple to be married will need an original or certified copy of their birth certificates, their passports and if previously married, either a Decree Nisi or a death certificate is required. Confirmatory letter on current status to be obtained from the Marriage Registry where the applicant resides or statutory declaration signed by a Justice of Peace or Notary Public or Solicitor to prove that he/she has not entered into a marriage before (this declaration applies to first or second marriage). Couples under 21 years of age are required to produce a consent document signed by a parent. Our team will guide you through this process and make sure all documents are received and processed as required.
MARRIAGE UNDER FIJIAN LAW INVOLVES TWO PARTS
It is now a requirement by Fijian law that the wedding couple must have a pre-arranged meeting with an officer of the law on the mainland of Fiji before traveling to your island resort. The officer is required to site your original copies of the notarized documents before they can issue your special license valid for 28 days. The license will then enable you to get married at the resort. To ensure your documents are correctly completed and all required documents are present you must submit these to your resort wedding coordinator at least two months before your arrival. Your resort wedding coordinator will be able to organize this meeting and advise you on the details when communicating with you before your wedding. You are required to have an overnight on the mainland, so you have time to obtain your license before traveling to the resort.
The ceremony can be arranged at your choice of location within the resort or on the beach. This service is performed by our local Talatala (minister). These arrangements are to be made once you arrive at the island, please note no wedding can be arranged on a Sunday.
Once you have decided which option suits you best, you will have to decide on a date for the actual ceremony as the Minister will be required to approve of the arrangements and confirm your dates. Legally Binding ceremonies will involve more email communication with the resort.
Everything will fall into place for you once you arrive at the island, please note, the management team will be able to assist to act as witnesses for your binding ceremony and also be your photographer during the ceremony, but any requirements for professional photos should be explored prior to arrival to the island, along with any other professional services you require.
